a list for friday: bad choices for your “life verse”

I am a worm and not a man. I am scorned and despised by all! (Psalm 22:6)

No one who has been emasculated by crushing or cutting may enter the assembly of the Lord. (Deuteronomy 23:1)

For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others–and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 19:12)

My breath is offensive to my wife; I am loathsome to my own family. (Job 19:17)

The hand of the Lord was against the city with a very great destruction; and He smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had hemorrhoids in their secret parts. (1 Samuel 5:9. You have to go to the KJV for this one–NIV isn’t nearly as fun.)

May the Lord strike you with Egyptian boils and with tumors, scabs and itch for which you will find no cure. (Deuteronomy 28:27)

I will not go home; I will not let myself rest. (Psalm 132:3)

What do people really get for all their hard work? (Ecclesiastes 3:9)

And a good one:

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Happy Easter, everybody.
