10 things I learned this week

Deck-of-Cards

Always count the cards in your hand after Nina deals.

Just because there’s a box of food in our pantry doesn’t mean there’s food in the box.

“People get scared when you try to do something, especially when it looks like you’re succeeding. People do not get scared when you’re failing. It calms them. That’s why the show Intervention is a hit and everyone loves ‘worrying about’ Amanda Bynes. But when you’re winning, it makes them feel like they’re losing or, worse yet, that maybe they should’ve tried to do something too, but now it’s too late. And since they didn’t, they want to stop you. You can’t let them.” It’s possible to love Mindy Kaling even more than I already did.

As a nation, we can’t talk because we can’t even agree on reality.

Why I feel this way.

Matt and I have our work cut out for us. (#27 is as wonderful as they say.)

I don’t like sports but I like every┬ámovie about sports.

There is something intensely appealing to me about the description of Eagle River and the 70 families who live and worship together there. Although maybe not in Alaska.

My second-favorite book in the universe is a movie and I didn’t even know it!
